Petersfield is a lively old market town (1 hour from London by train) situated near the South Downs and within easy reach of Winchester, Chichester and Portsmouth, all important heritage centres. Chalton (Jane Austen's home), Uppark and Gilbert White's Selborne are amongst the places of interest to visit in the immediately surrounding area.
There is a pay and play golf course a hundred yards away and a public heath which provides pleasant walks around a large lake (where rowing boats are available for hire in the summer months).
